I visited Hennie’s Montana for the first time on Saturday evening, and it ranks among the best hospitality experiences… I have had in South Africa.The service was exceptional. Our waiter, Shaun van Staden, did not simply serve our table; he elevated the entire experience. His engagement with us and every other table in his section was impeccable. He was attentive, genuinely personable and clearly passionate about providing excellent service.Shaun sets a standard that other hospitality professionals should aspire to. He could genuinely be involved in training waiters and sharing his approach to customer service.The entire team operated like a well-oiled machine, delivering seamless and efficient service even while the venue was at maximum capacity for the Springboks versus Scotland rugby match.The atmosphere was electric, with live sport shown across the large screens. What impressed me equally was how well the venue caters for families and groups. There is ample free parking outside, dedicated car guards, a well-designed children’s play area and toilets that remained exceptionally clean and fully stocked throughout the evening, despite how busy the venue was.These details are not minor luxuries. They demonstrate a team that understands hospitality, organisation and the importance of the complete customer experience.The menu offers a wide variety of classic pub-and-grill meals, with something available for most tastes. Not a good one today at Montana. Waited 30 min for first round of drinks, with other tables who arrived after us,… served before us.Waited more than an hour for the food to arrive? Ordered 200g fillet, which was no bigger than a cigarette box? Waited another 15 min for the bill, and when I wanted to pay, I had to eventually take the bill to reception, only to find the waiter who was serving us fooling around inside with other waiters!!!… Not a good experience!!!read more

What a shame …. This used to be one of our favorite restaurants. This mornings food was the worst ever. Food was… cold(no other customers) around so not busy! Dishes was dirty. You will start to lose customers like this. What is going on???read more
We had Diago at Montana Hennies and our whole holiday in South Africa this was the best service we got between all… restaurants. Just a pitty we only went there closer to the end of our holiday. Diago was sports with our jokes and participated with every joke. When we come back to SA we will definitely go back there.read more
