I was really disappointed with my experience at Hennie’s Rustenburg. We were seated, but our waitress wasn’t very… friendly from the start. Throughout our visit we constantly had to ask for service. Hennie’s is known for its “whistle for service” rule, but even when we needed assistance, some of the waiters would look away, chat to each other, and avoid helping us.Our waiter was hardly ever around, and after every drink we had to go looking for someone to order another. At one point, we asked a different waiter for assistance because we couldn’t find our waiter. She said she would help us, but then turned away, started talking to a coworker, and completely ignored us. She never came back to assist.I do want to mention that not all of the staff were like this. There were a few waiters who were friendly and willing to help when we managed to get their attention, and I appreciate their effort. Unfortunately, the overall service we received from our assigned waiter and one other staff member overshadowed the experience.This was my second visit to Hennie’s Rustenburg. My first experience was much better, which is why this visit was so disappointing. The food and atmosphere were enjoyable, but the service left us feeling ignored and frustrated.read more

I was charged… normal price for special and my waiter never came to check me up when I asked he said it’s because his manager was here, he was here because I had to go get him. We had an incredible time at Hennie’s Rustenburg watching Jakkie Louw! Even though the event was advertised as ‘first… come, first served,’ we arrived to find several tables already reserved. The place was absolutely packed, but Alex stepped in and saved the evening for us.Despite the crowd, he went above and beyond to find us a great, spacious table, ensuring we could enjoy the show comfortably. His efficiency and helpful attitude turned a potentially frustrating situation into a fantastic night out.I would highly recommend Hennie’s Rustenburg to anyone in the area. We observed him manage another customer complaint at an adjacent table with the same high level of care and expertise. Furthermore, we were particularly impressed by how he treats his staff; he corrects them in a positive and respectful manner, fostering a dignified work environment. After the below incident and sending an email to Hennie’s I have been contacted by head office and a branch manager. I… am very optimistic about the way the Branch manager will be handling the issues going forward and look forward to returning to Hennie’s after it has been addressed.Only giving one star because I can’t give no stars. Poor service, kids aren’t safe with the new smoking area. Customers are free to abuse alcohol as they please becoming increasingly drunk. And when an altercation does happen between customers the managers ask why you did not find them to report the issue even though they were no where to be found or even your waiter. Not a family safe restaurant for kiddies even though they boxed in the play area that is the shopping centre’s. Absolutely would not recommend especially at night or over weekends when patrons start to drink and become rowdy.The shopping center is no place for a bar as this Hennies seems to be. Was nice , but now it seems like it’s a shebeen/ bar not a restaurant anymore.read more
We have been loyal customers of Hennie’s, visiting at least once a week, if not more. We’ve always enjoyed the great… vibe, food, and service.However, our experience this past Saturday was absolutely shocking and deeply disappointing.We went for a drink in the afternoon and later decided to book a table to watch the rugby. Our table was confirmed, and we went home to fetch our kids. When we returned, our booked table had been taken, and we were told to sit somewhere else.We still stayed, had dinner, and watched the rugby. Before the final whistle, our waiter brought us one last drink. Then some friends wanted to stop by to say hello but were told they couldn’t come in because Hennie’s was already closed, they could only greet us at the door.My husband went outside to greet them, and when he tried to come back inside to fetch me and the kids and pay the bill, the bouncer (Tiny) refused to let him in. For absolutely no reason, this bouncer pushed him so hard that he fell, and still didn’t allow him back in!That kind of behavior is completely unacceptable! Just because someone works as a bouncer does not give them the right to push, shove, or assault customers!!!We are extremely disappointed and disgusted by how this was handled. After years of supporting Hennie’s, this experience has completely changed our view. We will never be back.read more

Be warned that a 10% tip is included in your bill, so make sure you get a good waiter!!The service of the waiter we… had when we were there was poor. We had to ask other waiters to find him for us every time. (It wasn’t even busy), and then he got a 10% tip for the minimum of work done at the end!The hamburger was of an acceptable standard, but the chips were terrible! Not fully cooked!The eishbein was really small for the price charged and compared to other places we had it before.We were sitting right next to the children’s playing area where there are signs that no smoking is allowed.Customers across us were smoking merely away, and not any of the waiters or themanager said anything.This place will not see me again.read more
