What a fantastic evening at Hennie’s Somerset West! We went for their Tuesday quiz night and had an absolute blast. The quiz host kept the energy high, the questions were fun and varied, and the atmosphere was buzzing all night. Definitely one of the better quiz nights in Somerset West. Quiz nights are a regular feature at the branch and always seem to draw a great crowd.The hilarious Hennie’s house rules are part of what makes the experience so unique. From drinking with your left hand to the famous “don’t ring the bell” rule, everyone gets involved and it creates a fun, social atmosphere with plenty of laughs.The schnitzel special was excellent too – crispy, generous portions, and topped with a delicious creamy sauce. Great value for money and definitely something I’d order again.Friendly staff, great food, loads of banter, and an awesome quiz night experience. We’ll definitely be back!Highly recommended!

What really stands out though is the value, the portions are generous and the prices are remarkably reasonable. It’s rare to find a place where the quality and the bill both make you happy.And if you haven’t been for quiz night yet, you’re missing out. It’s an absolute blast , if been to it twice now and loved it every time .competitive enough to keep you on your toes but relaxed enough that you’re laughing the whole way. Edited: The restaurant responded to the MrD report and gave me a R150 voucher for next purchase, and MrD gave me R60 voucher, so was some compensation for the original R384 spent. We used it to buy the slider platter which arrived hot and delicious. Thank you for the response and customer service.Did not really want to post a Google review as hoped MrD would resolve in some way, but their response was just to give Hennie’s a low rating on the MrD app, so was left with little other choice than to post a review.We ordered the kibble’s platter. The food was brought ice cold, so cold it was basically inedible. We watched the app and the prep of the meal took a long time, we watched delivery from start to finish and he did not do another drop off or stop along the way. Order was sent at 11:09, collected at 11:48 (so 40 minutes cook time) and arrived by us at 12:03. The only thing that was warm was the cheese jalepeno sauce we ordered extra. My thoughts are that they realised after cooking of the platter they forgot to sauce and then had to get it ready while other food got cold, or it just sat out somewhere not under a heater for some reason and then with 15 minutes drive it was unsaveable.We could not even put into the airfryer as the already very overcooked dry eisbein would have just been bricks (think even the pic shows how dry they were). Also the order came with no onion rings . And the buffalo things are just breading and hardly any meat. I’d heard such great things about Hennie’s food (I have been there for ruggers and drinks), but this is one of the worst ordering experiences I’ve had in a while.The whole platter as donated to a local gardener.

Our server was absolutely amazing — Anna was super friendly, full of personality, and made us feel comfortable from the moment we sat down. Came yesterday just by chance, place was quiet but the service and food was great nonetheless.Quite a few specials going at the moment and went for one of them. Very well priced and loads of parking.Today (24 September) we brought my parents. And man, what an incredible experience. 4 mains (2 braai day specials + 500g ribs and chicken stack) + 3 starters and 2 rounds of drinks for R1200 tip included. Can’t get better.We had Brian as our waiter both days. The man has energy, knowledge and excellent service. I must say, he has a natural talent but you can definitely tell that he cares about his job enough to make the customer experience really good. Well done!Overall very impressed. I will visit again, possibly often.

I had asked for a medium-rare burger, and that’s exactly what I got (no small thing), which was such a pleasure to eat.The portions are INCREDIBLE! So, great value for money too. Really great good, atmosphere and drinks.I cannot recall our bartenders name but she was super friendly however some other staff was moving a table near to us and thwacked into our table and didnt apologise so that stained things a bit but overall love this Hennies like the rest 👌
We’ve always enjoyed coming to Hennies – the atmosphere is great, the specials are good, and it’s usually a nice place to relax. However, tonight’s experience was really disappointing. Our waitress was hardly ever at our table, took a long time to take our order, and even longer to bring the bill. We eventually had to walk to the counter ourselves to pay. On top of that, we had to walk over to the waiters’ station with our leftover pizza just to ask for a takeaway box.Sadly, this kind of service makes us question whether we’ll be back.

One of the few times I have given 5 stars. There is literally nothing negative I have to say about this restaurant. Ample parking, kid’s play area, plenty of tvs for sport, friendly service and fantastic food.
I must commend our waiter Steve for his friendly and professional service. Received our drinks in a timely manner shortly followed by our main meal. Had the Smokey Joe burger and my fiancé had the Buffalo wings. Food was excellent. Will definitely be returning.
I was surprised by the friendly staff, they really treated us well and we got exactly what we ordered. They are not expensive at all, lots of items under a R100. They also have a huge menu, various types of food to choose from. Will be back

They enjoyed applying the “Hennie’s rules”, very original.Menu had a huge verity with some excellentrefreshing new ideas. Edited: The restaurant responded to the MrD report and gave me a R150 voucher for next purchase, and MrD gave me R60 voucher, so was some compensation for the original R384 spent. We used it to buy the slider platter which arrived hot and delicious. Thank you for the response and customer service.Did not really want to post a Google review as hoped MrD would resolve in some way, but their response was just to give Hennie’s a low rating on the MrD app, so was left with little other choice than to post a review.We ordered the kibble’s platter. The food was brought ice cold, so cold it was basically inedible. We watched the app and the prep of the meal took a long time, we watched delivery from start to finish and he did not do another drop off or stop along the way. Order was sent at 11:09, collected at 11:48 (so 40 minutes cook time) and arrived by us at 12:03. The only thing that was warm was the cheese jalepeno sauce we ordered extra. My thoughts are that they realised after cooking of the platter they forgot to sauce and then had to get it ready while other food got cold, or it just sat out somewhere not under a heater for some reason and then with 15 minutes drive it was unsaveable.We could not even put into the airfryer as the already very overcooked dry eisbein would have just been bricks (think even the pic shows how dry they were). Also the order came with no onion rings . And the buffalo things are just breading and hardly any meat. I’d heard such great things about Hennie’s food (I have been there for ruggers and drinks), but this is one of the worst ordering experiences I’ve had in a while.The whole platter as donated to a local gardener.
We had the best time at Hennie’s because of Anna! The food was excellent, the atmosphere was lively, but what really stood out for us was the service. Our server was absolutely amazing — Anna was super friendly, full of personality, and made us feel comfortable from the moment we sat down. She kept everything running smoothly, always checking in at just the right time, and honestly made the night even more enjoyable. It wasn’t just good service, it was the kind that makes you want to come back again. Huge thank you — ANNA, you made our evening unforgettable!
Came yesterday just by chance, place was quiet but the service and food was great nonetheless.Quite a few specials going at the moment and went for one of them. Very well priced and loads of parking.Today (24 September) we brought my parents. And man, what an incredible experience. 4 mains (2 braai day specials + 500g ribs and chicken stack) + 3 starters and 2 rounds of drinks for R1200 tip included. Can’t get better.We had Brian as our waiter both days. The man has energy, knowledge and excellent service. I must say, he has a natural talent but you can definitely tell that he cares about his job enough to make the customer experience really good. Well done!Overall very impressed. I will visit again, possibly often.
I ordered in, which is never the best way to try a place, but what a pleasant surprise!Everything was fresh and still hot. I had asked for a medium-rare burger, and that’s exactly what I got (no small thing), which was such a pleasure to eat.The portions are INCREDIBLE! So, great value for money too. If you’re looking for a casual dining option, I don’t think you can go wrong here.Thanks for a great meal!
Really great good, atmosphere and drinks.I cannot recall our bartenders name but she was super friendly however some other staff was moving a table near to us and thwacked into our table and didnt apologise so that stained things a bit but overall love this Hennies like the rest 👌
We’ve always enjoyed coming to Hennies – the atmosphere is great, the specials are good, and it’s usually a nice place to relax. However, tonight’s experience was really disappointing. Our waitress was hardly ever at our table, took a long time to take our order, and even longer to bring the bill. We eventually had to walk to the counter ourselves to pay. On top of that, we had to walk over to the waiters’ station with our leftover pizza just to ask for a takeaway box.Sadly, this kind of service makes us question whether we’ll be back.
Definitely the best buffalo wings I’ve had in a long time. The atmosphere is amazing, just like the food.

Really loved the atmosphere at this restaurant, sports bar meets family dinning. Loved it! The food was such a spoil! We had the chicken wings-brace yourself for the presentation! And the Chicken snitchel, delicious! Kids had pizza and ate almost every bite (girls 😉 ) Will definitely be returning!
One of the few times I have given 5 stars. There is literally nothing negative I have to say about this restaurant. Ample parking, kid’s play area, plenty of tvs for sport, friendly service and fantastic food.
I must commend our waiter Steve for his friendly and professional service. Received our drinks in a timely manner shortly followed by our main meal. Had the Smokey Joe burger and my fiancé had the Buffalo wings. Food was excellent. Will definitely be returning.
I was surprised by the friendly staff, they really treated us well and we got exactly what we ordered. They are not expensive at all, lots of items under a R100. They also have a huge menu, various types of food to choose from. Will be back
Hennies is absolutely the best, food is really amazing, staff are so cool, the atmosphere is relaxed and vibey, will definitely keep going to try everything on the menu, pizzas are so good, burgers tops, ribs so damn good, the prices are the most surprising, super low. 500g ribs and a side of your choice R145. Yes please.
Had a nice evening with the family.Atmosphere is spot on with a sports bar / hip restaurant feel.Waiters were very friendly, knowledgeable and could not fault them on anything. They enjoyed applying the “Hennie’s rules”, very original.Menu had a huge verity with some excellentrefreshing new ideas. Also got this old school feel to it where portions were still big and food had enough sauce, spice and flavor.Good luck Hennie’s with your new branch here in Somerset West and all the best for the future….keep up the quality food and value for money you offer!
We had a lovely time! The staff were very attentive and friendly (especially Atalia). The prices are good, nice specials, etc. Lovely vibe. Child friendly and good for a group of friends to have a good time. Highly recommend.
