Karabo(number 3) was an amazing and very welcoming waiter. I really enjoyed my first time coming here and because of this one specific waiter, I will come again !!!
Really bad service at Hennie’s today. Waitresses were not interested in serving us. Very busy chatting to each other and not interested in checking if we needed additional drinks ect once our food arrived. The restaurant was quiet so there was really no excuse for their terrible service.
I visited Hennie’s in Witbank recently and had a bit of a hit-and-miss experience with the food, though the atmosphere and service were top-tier.The Highlights:• The Drinks: The Hond (their in-house brewed beer) was fantastic—definitely a reason to come back.• The Sides: The onion rings and chips were spot on—perfectly crispy and tasty.• The Service: Huge shoutout to Themba. His service was a genuine 10/10. He was attentive, professional, and handled our feedback well.The Lowlights:• The Steak: Unfortunately, the steak was quite a letdown. It arrived overcooked and very rubbery, making it quite a struggle to chew.• The Sauce: I ordered the mushroom sauce, but the consistency was very thick, almost like pap, which didn’t really work as a pour-over sauce.Themba mentioned the chef might still be in training, which explains the inconsistency. Despite the kitchen slip-ups, the vibe and the service were good enough that I’d be willing to give them another go in the future to see if the mains improve.Pro Tip: Definitely try the Hond beer if you’re a fan of local brews!
The food is great, not so big portions, delicious but yeeeer, Hella expensive. Not for ppl on a budget like me. I love it for it’s kiddies play area. Great place for match days, especially for adults who are into adult cold Bevs. The spirit and culture is amazing on super busy days. The rules are fun and everyone is included in the fun. I love it.

Very Disappointing Experience at Hennies EmalahleniService at this restaurant is consistently slow and frustrating. On Boxing Day, our friends ordered drinks before we arrived, and even after a 10-minute drive to join them, their drinks still weren’t ready. These were simple drink orders — nothing that could justify such a long wait.We continued sitting there with no communication. After eventually stopping the floor manager and asking her to send our waiter over, the waiter finally arrived with only a draft beer and a basic gin special — drinks that take just a few seconds to prepare. When we asked if our own drinks would also take that long, her reply was simply, “I don’t know.”At that point, we asked for the bill and left — choosing to support a place where service is actually a priority. It’s very clear that other restaurants, even when much busier, deliver better customer service with efficiency and a better attitude.What’s more disappointing is that we have raised these concerns with the floor manager before, hoping for improvement — but no changes are being seen. The same issues continue, time after time.On a previous visit, our family’s meals were brought out one plate at a time. We had to watch each other eat because food came out individually, and a simple chicken salad was the last item to arrive. There is absolutely no consistency in the service here.Hennies Emalahleni has great potential, but service like this is driving customers away.

Visited hennies a few days back with my whole family, and i must say , theres a waitress there by the name Amy .. such a free spirited and full of energy waitress. I loved how she served us and always came back to check. Give Amy her flower 👌
Very poor service or Maybe a sleepy waiter, I had to ask around to find someone willing to take orders, thats after sitting 20min with only our menus at hand. Their excuse no one told him…..May be Hennies must put a bell at each Table so the Customers can tell your staff they arrived

Went for fathers day treat with my wife. Waited approx twenty minutes on arrival,Only recieved menus. No waiter. Stood up and left. First time we have been to Hennies. Are new residents and really dissapponted. From experience I can say the food in Middleburg is excellent so should it be in Witbank. Will not know now!
It was my lil brothers Birthday and I am glad we chose to celebrate it at Hennies

Tonight was the first and the last time Hennies Witbank sees us. Sitting at a dirty table waiting for a waiter to clean and to order for 15 minutes… Eventually A rude waitress named Mpumi cleared the table half without cleaning and left us without any assistance, nevermind she did not even greet us or ask for first drinks order. We stood up and walked out. Very poor service!!! Waist of time and energy!!
It was my first time there and I enjoyed it alot. Everything was nice from the drinks to my food. It’s a bit noisy though because they have a beautiful kids play area. If you don’t mind that then Hennies is the place to go too. I also enjoy the rules…keeps you on your toes. The price of their drinks and food is good and fair.
Our daughter won a voucher on Bingo night which is R1500 ( this is valid for 1 month ) 2 weeks later she took all of us to Hennies. She wanted to pay with the voucher the total was just over R900 then the waitress said the rest she will take as a tip. After the bill is already calculated with a 10% tip fee. She wanted R600 as a tip after the already tip included. Then my husband said give me back the voucher and then i will pay cash and settle the bill. The waitress insisted that we pay with the voucher and she said that they cannot give us the difference back in cash or to put it in another voucher. The manager or so called manager did nothing and only after we requested area managers number he then only said they can give us back the difference. We paid cash for this visit and after all our daughter was humiliated and in tears, after my husband had to ask the waitress to leave because she kept going with this insisting we pay with the voucher. We would like feedback on this matter so please feel free to contact me
The smoking section bar was fast and friendly. The food was not so great. The atmosphere was all about Cricket. NOT EVERYBODY loves sport. Perhaps a closed-off section to chill if you are not a couch potato… 🤔

Very very very bad service. Had a year-end-function there for 50 people. They said that they would assign 5 waiters for the function – we only had 3. Had to wait 4 hours for our food. The music were so loud that we had to shout or lip-read each other. Drinks took forever. The coffee machine was out of order – took them 40 minutes to communicate that. They got the orders wrong. Guardians at the kids play area were rude. All 50 employees were very dissappointed and are still talking about the horrible service. I personally will never ever go there ever again!!
Waited over 20mins for 2 beers and a sprite. Eventually moved to a table outside. Very loud inside. Tables were sticky. Staff very friendly but service is slow.
Food was good portions are reasonably sized but I wasn’t impressed with the chips as they seemed stale or bottom of the bag. Our waiter was friendly and helpful. Cocktails are good but inconsistent I got one with no salt around the rim and the next came with salt (I didn’t ask for salt around the rim as it was my first time and not sure how they where going to come) will definitely visit again as I understand it is a new venue. Bathrooms and tables are very clean and new.

When they just opened the food portions was a good size. Now it is smaller for the same price.Check your special drinks, like e.g the brandy special. Supposed to be doubles, but they only give you singles thinking you will not notice the difference. Excuse used – new people getting training. That’s why they invented optics! Atmosfere great, always busy. Don’t pay until you plan to leave as some waiters will abandon you after they received their payment and tip.

Waited for an hour and a half and then left because the food was still not ready. We had 2 children and not even that motivated the kitchen staff to hurry up. Even their own waitress complained that the kitchen is too slow and that management is of no help when it comes to speeding up the food orders. Apparently a lot of tables complained that their food is taking too long.
